Good afternoon atmospheric audience! Happy New Year to all and hope all is well. Just wanted to jump on real quick for my New England followers on the upcoming winter weather advisory for New Hampshire tonight into tomorrow morning. Also want to give my initial thoughts on the possibly of two potential Northeast snowstorms, and the oscillating temperatures coming.
Winter Weather Advisory

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from approximately midnight tonight till tomorrow morning for the following New Hampshire counties: Stafford, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Belknap, Carroll, Cheshire Sullivan in Grafton. Rockingham, while not part of the advisory will see a mixed slop to all rain. Rain moves into southern NH between 6pm and 8pm.

If going out tonight be aware the conditions may get dicey as precipitation transitions to sleet, freezing rain and snow later in the evening. 1 to 3 inches is possible in the counties mentioned but fortunately the storm moves out before we wake up tomorrow morning.

I’d recommend putting down salt tonight as temperatures will drop from the mid 40s today into the low 30s tomorrow morning and staying in the 30s most of Sunday. Isolated snow squalls and festive flakes throughout the state are possible tomorrow.
What’s Next: Cold Comes Back, Storm(s) Threat on Table
After a chilly Monday and warmer than expected Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures take a tumble once again at the end of the week and into next week. See low temps for next Fri and Sat below. Falling iguana alert also up for the Sunshine State!

Not a lock of course but I am tracking atmospheric gears for a potential big storm in the Northeast the end of next week, and possibly the week of the 24th. The devil is in the details but I like the setup with a building ridge in the NW.

Next Friday 1/16

Lastly, speaking of snowstorms this past week was the 30th year Anniversary of Blizzard of 1996! Who remembers where they were? Feel free to share your experiences below in the “Leave a Reply” section (and for future posts too, don’t be shy folks!). Here’s a post I put on X of a brief video I took from our Hoboken apartment. Check it out and see the comments!
My next update will have more details on storm threats, temperature trends for rest of January into February, QuakeReMarks thoughts, and finally, will have an update to my donations page which will allow those to make monthly or a 1 time donation who find my posts and forecasts informative and helpful throughout the year! Details coming! That’s it for now, and remember weather never sleeps!
I was in Nashua trying to keep a toddler entertained and the sidewalk clear! We had a plow driver for the driveway, but while husband was away I had to shovel!
