- Thursday morning brief burst
- Saturday clipper
- Arctic Blast Sunday – Tuesday
- Lurking storms linger

Good evening, audience. We are back for probably one last post for the month of February, in the end of meteorological winter. But as mentioned in my last post with this current warm-up, don’t be complacent. I wanted to discuss briefly our winter weather for New England for tomorrow morning, a clipper that blankets be same areas Saturday to kick off March, followed by frigid temperatures Sunday into early next week. Plus a sneak peak into March Madness. As my long-term subscribers know, my fascination with March storms runs snow deep. At the end of this post, I put together a list of many the big March snowstorms that have in the Northeast. Again, nothing is a lock at this point, but the atmospheric gears continue to suggest winter isn’t over yet. But if you love those warm, sunny spring days that get you fired up to be on the beach, lakes and boats, you’ll get it this month. If you love big snowstorms, or the threat of them along with colder-than-normal temperatures, that’s on the table as well.
Thursday Morning Snow
OK, first up let’s briefly touch upon tomorrow mornings brief burst of accumulating snow for NE Mass, New Hampshire and Maine. By the way, this will be an all rain event for the tri-state area with showers moving in late morning tomorrow ending with some heavy downpours the mid to late afternoon.

Light to moderate snow moves into southern New Hampshire between 3am and 5am and the rest of the Granite State by sunrise. Totals will between a coating to a couple of inches at best as temperatures climb above freezing. Snow mixes, and changes over to all rain late morning to early afternoon. But further north from Claremont over to Conway and on up to Carroll, a more formidable dump of 3-5″ is possible.

Next up we have a clipper that will also paint New England with some white gold Saturday morning. A general one to 3 inches are expected across Vermont into New Hampshire. Snow moves in from west to east Friday night into the overnight hours Saturday before tapering off Saturday morning.

A rude awaking to start March! Wait, how about arctic blast Sunday into early next week to add to winter haters misery sound! Check out the 7am temps and wind chills for Sunday and Monday morning below!

Ok, looking down the road. I’m keeping an eye out for next Wednesday/ Thursday (possible heavy rain/wind event but we’ll see) and the end of next week/weekend for a possible major storm. Some of the model ensembles are reflecting a deep trough centered over the northeast in the coming weeks.

Temperatures will ebb and flow as the sun angle is higher in the sky and sunset times are getting later. They’ll be plenty of arctic air and moisture, however, to create an epic storm or two. Don’t forget daylight savings on March 9th as we gain an hour of daylight yet lose an hour of sleep. We also have another celestial show on March 14th for a total lunar eclipse. Not nearly as exciting as a total solar eclipse, but pretty cool no less. One caveat while on a Friday night, the full eclipse doesn’t begin until 2:26am! That’s it for now. I’ll be back as usual with further clarity on what’s coming down the pipe. Time for bed as I need my sleep because Weather Never Sleeps!

2017 & 2018 we’re back breakers!
