Good evening! Hope all are well and you have dug yourselves out from last weeks major Nor’easter! I just wanted to jump on briefly to our next system which won’t be a blockbuster long duration event. However, it’ll be a formable plowable storm, from Saturday night into Sunday afternoon. Winter Storm watches are up for NJ counties south of I78, including Hunterdon, Somerset, Union, Essex, Bergen, Hudson, E Passaic, the 5 Boroughs, Long Island, southern Westchester snd coastal CT. Winter Storm Watches also travel NE to SE CT, S RI and the Cape. Accumulating snow may hit I95 cities of DC/Balt to Philly and NYC (Boston may be too far north but let’s see the trends overnight).
The next 2 weeks will also see the coldest arctic outbreak into the United States this winter, dropping into the Northern Plains and eventually towards the East. As I’ve been emphasizing in my past posts, this pattern is extremely ripe for bitter cold coupled with numerous storm threats, possible similar to last weeks (next weekends Valentines Special on the table). Gotta jump, just wanted to give everyone a heads-up tonight. I’ll be back tomorrow with details on the usual where, when, and how much. Have a great night, and get some rest because weather never sleeps!
