About Me

My fascination and passion of weather dates back to my early days growing up in Kinnelon, particularly the Feb 1978 and 1983 snowstorms which had a profound impact on me. From checking the Fathers Almanac calendar for their “predicted” storms when I was little, to posting storm totals in a journal, to watching the early days of the Weather Channel, I shared this passion and growing knowledge with anyone who would listen. While a career path in meteorology wasn’t in the cards (I still wonder why to this day) my interest and knowledge has certainly grown over the years through, but not limited to, online courses, meteorology periodicals, following and reading endless hours of top meteorologists research and forecasts, just to name a few.

In early 2011, I started writing weather forecasts via text to just family and select friends which has now expanded dramatically through-out the tri-state area, including PA NYC LI CT MA up to all of New England, down to VA DC NC SC and GA. My early call for folks to get prepared well in advance for Sandy helped gain respect/followers. I launched my Twitter account @WeatherReMarks in 2014 which has allowed me post my videos and pictures which have been shown on ABC News, Accuweather, The Weather Channel, NJ12, NJ 101.5, NBC Boston, Boston 25, and retweets by Meteorologists Jim Cantore (The Weather Channel), Janice Huff (WNBC), Lee Goldberg, Jeff Smith (ABCNY7), Amy Freeze (Fox Weather), Nick Gregory and Audrey Puente (Fox5NY), Dave Curren (News12NJ), James Spann (Weather Brains), Len Melisurgo (NJ.com), Eric Fisher (CBS Boston), among others and various news stations / media outlets. I also have given presentations to local rotary clubs to share my knowledge and passion. I’m also a trained SKYWARN spotter, providing various local weather data to the National Weather Service. Lastly, besides constantly learning and a supporter of science, I’m a member of the Mount Washington Observatory in New Hampshire.

Thanks for reading and following my continued journey and quest to provide insightful and accurate updates on the what, where, when, and how much, both up to the minute and longer range outlooks. Whether you like it or not, weather will be cold or hot, depending on the spot. So stay tuned to WeatherReMarks for everything I got!

I’d like to thank Caroline Lidz for helping re-design my site and logo! An extremely talented and creative individual, I’d highly recommend her to help with any new web design ideas, logos, or just a refresh on your existing website! www.carolinelidz.com
