QuakeReMarks Alert:

Wanted to jump on to give an update from my last Saturday (3/15) post’s new segment, QuakeReMarks (please go read if you missed it). One of the spots that I identified, Alaska, just received a magnitude 6.2 earthquake this morning! This was followed by a series of aftershocks of a 5.7, 5.0 and 8 smaller ones. While not in the same spot as the Caribbean region I mentioned, a few minutes later a 6.5 quake hit south of Panama. I still see a major quake in the Caribbean in the coming weeks to months. In fact there’s been a swarm around Puerto Rico over the past 7 days (including a 4.4 today).

The other areas still remain on my hit list for a major quake, that still being the Caribbean, Italy, Ethiopia, Greece, New Zealand, Indonesia, and NW coast by Vancouver/Seattle and near the California / Oregon border. Plus, of course looking for a mega-quake in Japan.

On the less scary but chilling weather front, I’ll be back shortly to discuss the delay of spring for the last week of March into early part of April. So Please enjoy the pleasant day tomorrow across the Northeast. Look for breezy and mostly sunny skies with temps in the upper 50s to low 60s. But the chill is back on Sunday! Old man winter is not in hibernation mode just yet and dare I say snow is still lurking. Accumulating snow Monday in New England and possible some festive flakes down to Hudson Valley? Stay tuned! As March madness continues with bracket busters (ugh Clemson) to lower back breakers (heavy snow), I need a nap as weather never sleeps!
